By The Tide...........Embossing Resist, Sponging and Watercolor Techniques

Hi Stampers!

I absolutely had so much fun creating this card. I couldn't wait to share it with all of you! This card uses several techniques---Emboss Resist, Sponging with ink, and Water coloring. I've been beginning to miss our Hawaiian ocean lately and so it was easy for me to get into oceanography frame of mind.

I created the ocean scenery by taking a piece of Whisper White card stock and die cut it with the third largest oval from Stampin' Up!'s Ovals Collection. Once that is cut, stamp the coral image using Versa Mark and heat emboss it using Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder. Wipe the image over with a napkin to complete the process. To create the ocean background, start with sponging Sahara Sand keeping the color on a slight diagonal on the paper. Next, I sponged Pool Party, then, Bermuda Bay and finally Island Indigo. Once your piece is all inked up, layer it on a piece of Pool Party card stock cut with the second largest oval from the collection. Now, to create the fish.....I stamped the image using Stazon On Black Ink of a piece of Water Color paper. I used So Saffron and Marina Mist colored ink and colored it using my Aqua Painter. Once it was all colored I just cut the image out with my paper snips and attached it to my ocean scene using a Stampin' Dimensional. The background is done with Island Indigo embossed with the Argyle embossing folder layerd on to Bermuda Bay.

Hope you enjoyed this card share. Here is the full list of all the supplies used to create this card.:

2015 Last Chance List (Retiring List)....Blooming With Kindness and Stampin' Up!'s 2013-2015 In Colors

Hi Stampers!

The Last Chance aka the Retiring List is out and many of my favorites are on that list. I am so sad to see them go, but before they do I want to give them one final share....

Today's share is the Blooming With Kindness Stamp Set. I decided to use this stamp set along with the 2013 - 2015 In Colors and the Argyle Embossing Folder  that will also be retiring.

Here you can view a card done in Crisp Cantaloupe. I stamped the image on a piece of 3" X 3" Whisper White card stock using Crisp Cantaloupe. I then stamped the image over using Versa Mark and heat embossed with Iridescent Ice.

Here you can see the same card using the remaining Baked Brown Sugar, Coastal Cabana, Strawberry Slush and Pistachio Pudding.

Team Stamp It Mother's Day Blog Hop

Hi Stampers!

Need some inspiration for Mother's Day?...Well, I'm glad that you stopped by. Why not honor that someone special that we call "Mom" with a hand made item that she can always treasure? Some of Team Stamp It group members have some amazing projects that we would like to share with you. If you are already on our tour, you have just come from Lori Mueller's Stampin Dreams blog. I just love her ideas. If you have just arrived here, not to worry....you can easily stroll along through our hop by navigating using the "next" and "previous" buttons below.

Now on to my share:

I used Stampin' Up!'s Mother's Love stamp set and combined several techniques to create my card share. In addition, I decided to create my own background for this card. First, I created the background by randomly stamping the flower image using Crisp Cantaloupe on a piece of 4" x 5 1/4" Whisper White card stock. Secondly, I embossed a strip of Crisp Cantaloupe using Decorative Dots Embossing Folder. Finally, for the focal point - I heat embossed the greeting using Calypso Coral embossing powder and used the "Two Step" Technique for the flower. For the "Two Step" technique, I used the Garden Green and Calyps Coral Stampin' Write Markers to ink up the outline images. Then I used Wild Wasabi and Crisp Cantaloupe on the solid image and stamped over.

I have to admit that Calypso Coral and Crisp Cantaloupe is one of my favorite color combinations.

Here is the complete list of the supplies I used:

Now, lets head on over to Liz Miller's Stampin With Liz blog and see her awesome project.
