I have not been able to post too much here....lots going on here on our island. On June 27, one of our active volcano's - Kilauea, started to spurt out lava towards Pahoa Village in our Puna district...the same district that suffered severe damages with hurricane Iselle. Many homes are in the direct path of the flow of the lava flow. Many have already evacuated to nearby shelters and other family members. The flow is currently less than 100 yards from the closest home and less then 500 yards from crossing one of it's major highways. Once the lava makes it's way to the ocean, it will cut off access to the nearest town of Hilo. Several schools have already been indefinitely closed and the students have been shuffled to other schools. Here are some photos of the flow since June 27th.
