Reflection Technique

Hello Stamping Friends!

Today is Technique Tuesday and I wanted to share with all of you our project that our group worked on today. We visited an "oldie but goodie" technique - it's one of my favorites. It is called the Reflection Technique.

Here are the supplies used to create this card:

There are many variations of this technique that you can find on the Internet, but here is the link that I used to learn this awesome stamping technique. You can CLICK HERE to see Tami White demonstrating this technique on her You Tube channel.

Here is what we did to create our focal point on our card project:

Stamping the image onto card stock.

Look carefully-you can see the image being stamped on the clear envelope.

Creating the reflection by rubbing turning the envelope over so that the inked image on the clear envelop sits on top of the card stock.  Gently rub the envelope to transfer the image.

In this project I used sponge daubers to color the grass, pool and sky-giving a very soft touch to the focal point.

Applying color to your image. Make sure you sponge off some of the ink from the sponge dauber before you apply color to your stamped image. This will soften the look.

More color...creating the pond and the sky. Do the same with sponging off some of the ink before you apply the color.

Using SNAIL adhesive, adhere your embossed Marina Mist card stock to the Early Espresso card stock to create the base for your card. You will attach this matted card layer to your Marina Mist base layer using Stampin' Dimensionals.

Stating to create the focal point. Use the second largest Deco Label Framlit to die cut the image.

Start creating the frame for the focal point. Use the largest Deco label Framlit to start the layering.

The base layer for the framing of the focal point. This is also using the largest Deco Label framlit.

In order to create the base layer, you will have to cut the die in half and position for the base of your layer. You may need to trim middle points.

You have now completed your focal point for your card. Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere to the matte base of your card.

To get the perfect stamped image, use the Stamp-Ma-Jig and stamp your greeting on to your card stock - Works and never fails! A must have!!

Layer your greeting and add to your card using Stampin Dimensionals.

Here is the finish product!

Morning Meadow

Hi Stampers!

Today we celebrated Micah Peter's 8th Birthday---Happy Birthday Micah!!!  He was so excited that today was his birthday that last night he tried to stay up till midnight because he knew once the clock struck midnight----it was his special day. Luckily, the sandman came and he was in dreamland by 8pm (Hawaii time).

Today we played with Dynamic Duo's Color Challenge #61

Soft and Subtle was the theme - perfect for Stampin' Up!'s Pink Pirouette and Sahara Sand. Did you know that Stampin' Up's Stampin Write Markers are very versatile? Look carefully at the pearls in the middle of the flower cut outs. They are stained with the Pink Pirouette Marker---giving a little more  pink shade to the card--so very cool!!.

To make this card, you will need:

Supplies: Sahara Sand and Pink Pirouette Card Stock, Classic Ink Pads, and Pink Pirouette Stampin' Write Marker.

Accessories: Basic Pearl Jewels

Tools: Modern Label Punch, Big Shot Die Cut Machine.

Stamp Sets: Modern Meadow & Love & Laughter

Birthday Gift Tags - Oh, Hello

Hello Everybody!

This week I will be busy getting items completed and mailed off for Stampin' Up! Swap!. One of my goals is to make it to a Stampin' Up Convention. For the time being, I can enjoy all the excitement rubbed off from other fellow demonstrators who will be attending and admiring all of their pictures that they post, along with the stories that they will share. At the convention, one of the many exciting things that go on is demonstrator swaps. Demonstrators will swap projects that they have created with other fellow demonstrators. A sister demonstrator (who will also not be attending) has graciously open herself up to host a "Non-Convention" demonstrator swap---the closest I can get to participating :) Here is one of the Gift Tags that I will be swapping using the Oh, Hello Stamp Set and the greeting is from Create a Cupcake Stamp Set.
