Honoka'a Sports Complex

Hi Stampers!

We just got through with the first of our holiday events for 2012. For the past four years, Siara Sweet Sensations has participated in the Honoka'a Peace Day Festivities. This is one of the largest events that is held in our community. Many of our local dignitaries and entertainers come out to support the Peace Day Festival. In the past, Siara Sweet Sensations features our favorite baked products. Being a first year Stampin' Up! demo, we were able to expand our booth to include projects made with Stampin' Up! projects.  In addition, this year my daughter-in-law came out and joined in with our sales. The sun was shinning and the weather was beautiful......It was a huge success and we want to thank everyone who came out to support us! Here are some of the items that we featured in our booth:

Pedro "Tata" del Juderias

Hi Stampers!

I am back after a very busy past month. My apologies for not posting, but our family loss a very special person. Roger and his 6 siblings loss both of his parents at a very young age. "Tata", whom was a good friend to the family stepped in and filled in the the gap with no hesitation. "Ta" never married and took care of the Acdal Family. "Ta" became family. "Ta
lived a very long life and we were fortunate to have him as part of our family. In the end, as the family gathered around "Ta", we sang praise and worship and he peacefully went home to our Lord on August 28, 2012. Thank You "Ta" for all that you have done for our family! You are truly loved and will be missed by all!

Faux Mother of Pearl - Element of Style

Good Morning Stampers!

Hope everyone is having a good week so far! It's Technique Tuesday and here we are featuring the "Faux Mother of Pearl" Technique. In order to get the "Mother of Pearl" desired background look, we applied Stampin' Up!'s Frost White Shimmer paint with a crumbled piece of "Saran Wrap". What you would need to do is pour a little of the paint into a paper plate. Dab your crumbled plastic wrap into the paint. Next, dab off the excess paint onto the paper plate-the dab your Neutral color card stop. Keep repeating until you cover the entire card stock. Using a sponge, we sponged Crumb cake over the background. The image is stamped with Staz On ink colored in with Stampin' Up!'s Colored Marker. This a fun and creative technique. It gives texture with a little shine--love it!

Here is what we used to make this birthday card:

Stamp Sets:
Elements of Style - Wood Mount or Elements of Style - Clear Mount
Teeny Tiny Wishes - Wood Mount or Teeny Tiny Wishes - Clear Mount

Card Stock:
Whisper White
Pink Pirouette
Early Espresso
Crumb Cake

Stampin' Write Markers:
Subtle Set
Old Olive

Classic Stampin' Pad:
Crumb Cake

Punches:
Elegant Butterfly
Large Oval
Scallop Oval

Embellishments:
Pearl Basic Jewels

Shimmer Paint:
Frost White

Staz On Ink Pad:
